Seville - Jerez
The first day of the Al Andalus train route our staff will welcome you at 10:00 am at Alfonso XIII hotel in Seville. After putting your suitcases in a safe place, we will invite you to go to the hotel hall, where there will be a space reserved for train passengers. Our waiters will serve you snacks and drinks. In addition, we will provide you with the travel ticket, your room number and the day’s itinerary.
After the presentation of the guide that will accompany you in Seville, we will go out to visit the historic quarter of the capital of Andalusia. On this complete tour of the city you can discover monumental gems such as the Cathedral, crowned by the Giralda, a symbol of Seville. You will also see the Royal Alcazar, a wonderful set of palaces with spectacular gardens, and stroll through the alleys of Santa Cruz Quarter, where the Jewish community once settled.
At lunchtime we will return to the Hotel Alfonso XIII, where you will taste the most famous dishes of local cuisine. You will continue discovering the city on a panoramic bus tour, making a very special stop at the beautiful Plaza de España.
Then we will head to the station to board the Andalusian train. The crew will greet you with a welcome toast and then settle in your luxurious and comfortable room. Soon after we will start the journey to Jerez. On the way, you will enjoy dinner in one of the fabulous restaurant wagons on board.
Already in Jerez, the train will stay at the station so that you have a better rest at night.
Jerez - Cádiz
This second day of the Al Andalus 2023 Train tour, after replenishing our strength with a good breakfast served on board, we will travel by luxury bus to Cadiz. We will visit the attractions of the historic center of this ancient city, the oldest in the western world. Then we will have free time to explore the city on our own and get drunk on its Cadiz charm.
We will get back on the bus to return to the train and enjoy a delicious lunch prepared by our chef. We will have time to enjoy the beautiful Belle Epoque style rooms before dinner time in a restaurant in Jerez.
The train will remain at the station and we’ll overnight in Jerez.
Jerez - Ronda
After breakfast, we will board the bus that will take us to a famous Sherry winery. There we will learn the secrets of making this renowned drink with Denomination of Origin. In addition, we will taste the best specimens that the winery produces. We will finish the visit in Jerez attending the equestrian show “How the Andalusian Horses Dance”.
We will return to the Al Andalus Train to head for the beautiful White Village of Ronda. Along the way, we’ll enjoy a hearty lunch in the onboard dining cars.
We will liven up the afternoon with performances and shows in the train’s luxurious lounge cars. Then we will go by bus to have dinner in a restaurant in Ronda.
The train will stop in Ronda to spend the night in this town.
Ronda - Córdoba
After breakfast we will get ready to tour the old city of Ronda, which is part of the route of the beautiful White Villages. Our guide will take you through the Alameda del Tajo, the New Bridge and the Old Bridge. You will also see the oldest bullring in Spain, the Palacio Mondragón, among other emblematic places. You will have free time to explore Ronda freely and admire the beautiful views of the Serranía.
Back on board the luxurious Al Andalus Train, we will make the journey to Cordoba, while we taste a select meal.
We will spend the night in Cordoba.
Córdoba - Úbeda - Baeza - Granada
Like every day, after breakfast, we will continue the itinerary of the Al Andalus Train. We will visit Cordoba, which in medieval times was an opulent city, capital of the Al Ándalus caliphate. We will enter one of its World Heritage Sites, in the impressive Mosque of Cordoba.
Then we will return to our hotel on wheels to regain strength with a delicious lunch while we continue on our way to the Linares station, in Baeza. Along the way, the protagonists will be the unique landscapes of the Andalusian countryside. Take the opportunity to relax with the views, while having a drink lying comfortably in the privacy of your suite or in one of the train cars.
In the afternoon we will visit Ubeda and Baeza, two towns that hold the title of World Heritage Cities.
Back on board, we will continue the route on the Al Ándalus train bound for Granada, the home of the famous Alhambra. During the journey we will delight ourselves with a well-deserved dinner served on board and then you can enjoy the nightly entertainment program.
Finally, we will spend the night at the Granada station.
Granada
This will be a very special day! We will see inside the most visited place in Spain: The Alhambra, a World Heritage Site. We will visit the beautiful palaces and gardens of this fortress that was once the home of sultans and kings. Take the opportunity to take photos in the spectacular Nasrid Palaces and its Lions courtyards. And relax strolling through the fabulous gardens and fountains of the Generalife Palace.
In the afternoon there will be free time to explore the center of Granada on your own. We will round off the night with dinner at a local restaurant, where you will taste the most select dishes of Granada cuisine.
Granada - Málaga
On the last day of the Al Andalus Train route, after enjoying breakfast on board, we will say goodbye to the train and its crew to take the coach to Malaga, where we will visit its Alcazaba, palatial fortification of the Muslim era.
Free time and lunch at the Hotel AC by Marriot Málaga Palacio, where the trip will end around 5:00 p.m.
